This year's event will feature the Best Savory Dish Contest and Best Sweet Dish Contest.
Judging this year are father-and-son local chefs, Milton Aschner and Adam Aschner, plus baker and pastry artist, Jason Sandler.
After a career in sales and advertising, Chef Milton Aschner decided to pursue his culinary passion full time. As a personal chef searching for a unique cocktail-hour starter, he created Chili-Honey Roasted Nuts. Orders for the nuts started pouring in, and a successful business was born. Chef Milton has since expanded with a line of gourmet sea salts, available for purchase in different flavors from his website.
Chef Adam Aschner, the Creator of Chef Spoons, was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Before becoming a founding member of TeDAM!, he spent a dozen years traveling the world focusing on cooking, culture, art, and life. Adam is an avid Lego builder, amateur photographer, and very much enjoys reading cookbooks.
Since graduating Cum Laude with a degree in Baking & Pastry Arts from Johnson & Wales University, Jason Sandler has worked as a baker, restaurant manager and bakery manager. His career has taken him from his hometown of Harrisburg, PA to Miami to San Diego and ultimately Dallas. We are happy he is lending his talents to the 5th Annual Dallas Food Truck Palooza!
Anonymous entries will be judged on several important criteria and there are serious bragging rights on the line, so you can bet that many of our favorite food trucks will be entering both contests and cooking at their best for a chance to win.
This year's Food Truck Best Savory and Best Sweet Dish will win custom-made Spoons from Chef Adam!
Judging starts at 11:30 a.m....just in time for lunch. You don't want to miss it.
Reverse Food Truck
This year's Dallas Food Truck Palooza, in partnership with Northpark Presbyterian Church, will feature a Reverse Food Truck onsite to fight hunger in our North Texas area. Attendees can donate food to support the Vickery Meadow Food Pantry, and the Jewish Family Services food pantry. Donations of canned soups, pasta, peanut butter and tuna fish are especially welcome at this time of the year.
